Specific physical fitness is an important factor affecting the performance in badminton. And it is critical for coaches to know whether body fat determines the specific physical fitness. The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between body fat and specific physical fitness in badminton, and to compare the differences of body fat and specific physical fitness in badminton, and to compare the differences of body fat and specific physical fitness between single and double plays. 17 male badminton athletes from National College of Physical Education and Sports were served as subjects, and divided into single group (8 persons) or double group (9 persons). Body fat percentage measurement and seven specific physical fitness testing were involved in the study. Collected data were analyzed through SPSS 10.0 for windows statistic software. In conclusion, the study indicated that except standing long jump(p<.05), there was no significant difference between single group and double group. It implied that the single group, the correlation of body fat and specific physical fitness was not significant. Third, in the double group, the correlation of body fat and twelve minutes running were significant (r=.754). Last, the correlation between body fat and standing long jump was significant for each subject.
