The purpose of this study was to investigate the body type distribution of the first sixteen athletes in class A high school Basketball League (HBL). The body type norm of HBL to set up will provide the information for coach to select. The participants were 248 athletes, aged 15-18 years old, with mean age 16.75±0.85 years, height 185.32±7.33 cm, weight 75.58±8.67 kg, Body Mass Index (BMI) 22.10±1.98. All data were processed by SPSS for window 10.0 software and compare to the fitness norm of Ministry of Education. The results are as follow: 1. All the four age group (including fifteen, sixteen, seventeen and eighteen years old) is higher than the norm in height. They are 16.8 cm, 13.3cm, 13.2cm, 13.8cm and 13.8cm higher than the norm, respectively. 2. To compare with the norm in weight, the four age groups are 15.4kg, 12.5kg, 13.1kg and 12.7kg more than the norm individually. 3. The BMI of the four groups are 0.5-1.1 higher than the norm. We concluded the HBL athletes need higher body type to deal with the Basketball exercise.
