“The love between humans and other kinds of animals” is one of the categories in the novel of the Wei-Chin Dynasty composed of weird legends, which has gained popularity in the past years. It is because these stories were written with sincerity by which people could be touched. Hence, the subject matter in this novel becomes a significant resource of the literary creation and is commonly used in the later age. This article abstracted the subject matter dealing with “the love between humans and other kinds of animals” from “Sou Shen Chi” written by Kan Pao, trying to categorize and explore the content based on the features of each pieces. Moreover, by contemplating Kan Pao’s thoughts when writing the novel, the implications were also discussed in this article. The conclusion revealed that “the love between humans and other kinds of animals” was not just the fiction by the author but the detailed record from folklore. The author, Kan Pao, linked the introspection and some special values under the tumultuous situation of the Wei-Chin Dynasty and put the interaction into words.
