在華人企業的研究方面,超自然信仰對商業決策的影響應該受到注意。尤其,在了解華人商業活動的全貌上,不能缺少這一部分的學術耕耘。因此,本探索性研究藉由兩個調查,嘗試了解超自然信仰在華人商業決策行為上所扮演的角色。第一個調查,是針對盛行於華人企業的風水信仰,探討風水對華人企業聲譽相關決策的影響;第二個調查是利用實務性資料,調查傳統姓名學的幸運筆劃數信仰,應用於中文品牌暨企業命名決策的現象。最後,本研究建議在運用超自然信仰於華人商業決策時,最好綜合傳統文化、資源、風險等三種觀點,三位一體地思考超自然信仰在商業決策上所帶來的成本和利益。
In Chinese business studies, the impact of supernatural beliefs on business decision-making should attract the attention of management researchers. Without taking into account supernatural beliefs, any serious understanding of Chinese business activities will be incomplete. Hence this exploratory research conducts two surveys to understand the role played by supernatural beliefs in Chinese business decision-making. The first survey explores the impact of feng shui on decision-making relating to Chinese corporate reputation. The second survey examines the phenomenon concerning the adoption of the total number of strokes with auspicious meaning based on supernatural beliefs in Chinese brand/corporate naming decisions. Finally, this article suggests to incorporate three views including Chinese traditional cultures, resources, and risks to consider the potential costs and benefits in applying supernatural beliefs in Chinese business decision-making.
