這篇文章將討論社會工作師應該認識之社區概念，社區組織結構，與社區系統理論，藉以協助社會工作師對其從事社會工作實務之環境與場所有所瞭解，以便擔任社區營造、社區組織、與社區改革之有效變遷媒介。第一段將討論社區之研究歷史。第二段將界定社區之意義，分為地緣之社區與興趣之社區。第三段將分析社區系統：分為社會系統理論、生態系統理論、權力與衝突之中心。第四段將說明虛擬社區或電腦傳達之社區。第五段將討論社區與社會工作實務。社會工作在社區中如何操作以促進社區功能與全民之社會與經濟正義。結論將建議所有社會工作師應學習認識現代之社區概念與分析社區之各種系統網絡，才能達成改革社區之使命。
This paper will discuss the basic concept of community and the systems existed in the community. The community is a context and settings for social worker to engage in professional practice. The first section will discuss the brief history of community study. The second section will define a community based upon a locality concept or a concept of interest. The third section will analyze the community systems based upon social system theory, ecological system theory, and a center of power and conflicts. The fourth section will explain the new concept of virtual community or the computer-mediated community. The fifth section will discuss the relationships between community and social work practice. How to promote community functions and to enhance the social-economic justice for all people in community. Conclusion will suggest that all social workers should study the concepts and systems of community in order to achieve their mission of social reform and helping people in community.
