This text compares Ziyi(緇衣) various editions, in order to excavate the Ziyi of the literature from the chapter 14 to 16, that is, chapter 7 and 8 of scriptures are research object. These chapters express the thought of “speak and act cautiously”, chapter 14 of the edition of bamboo slip expresses emperor should speak carefully, and takes silk fabrics for an example, explaining the emperor’s word of influence and engagement specifically, and it may cause negative influence to express the emperor's words. Chapter 15 expresses the emperors, who speak and behave cautiously, the result that the gentleman does it in this way, scriptures written people will be “Speech doesn’t endanger behavior, behavior doesn’t endanger speech.” But we can know it is not correspond to Confucianism in literature, “Speech doesn’t endanger behavior, behavior doesn’t endanger speech.” should be “Speech doesn’t overdo behavior, behavior doesn’t overdo speech.” Chapter 16 describes even the gentleman takes action, it is quite cautious, besides guiding others, the more important thing is being an example for behavior; and scriptures written “To prohibit people with behavior”, and it conflicts with Confucianism which emphasized the concept “To educate people with moral”. In chapter of structure, we can know the edition of bamboo slip (Ziyi) on the expression of the thought. It has clear track of thought to follow. When the edition of bamboo slip explains the thought of “speech and behavior”, we can discuss speech and behavior separately. However, scriptures modify the structure of the edition of bamboo slip; there is a tendency to discuss “speech and behavior” together. In a word, the edition of bamboo slip and scriptures has made the modification to a certain extent, no matter on the choice of words or on the thought, all have a suitable difference, and we can know one kind of appearance of the pre-Qin period Confucianism from it, and how Han Dynasty revise to conform with Confucianism at that time. We can find out the political, social changes from pre-Qin period Han Dynasty, and how Confucianism changed with era.
