潛水是本系運動技能項目之一,學生若能藉由實驗室的實驗,瞭解其在水中的生理 變化,如心跳、心輸出量以及血壓的變化,則有助於其在水中維持生理機能的恆定,如 體溫。本實驗藉由心電圖的計算,測出受試者在不同的身體姿勢;平躺、坐立、站立、 坐立於腳踏車上以及在腳踏車上運動。由實驗數據顯示,受試者在平躺時,其心輸出量 最少心跳最小;坐立姿勢,心輸出量逐漸增加,心跳也相對地升高;在站立的姿勢,心 輸出量也比坐立姿勢時要來的高,而其心跳也是如此;坐在腳踏車上的情形與站立的結 果相似;當受試者在腳踏車上運動時,心輸出量及心跳達到最高值。當受試者在水中時, 無論是做浮潛或者是水肺潛水時,最好採取俯臥的姿勢,因為在俯臥時其心輸出量最 少,心跳也相對最小,則流到四肢的血液也相對減少,所以身體內的熱量散失也減少, 身體內的溫度也因此得以保持恆定。
