Su-Shi was a well-known metrist of Sung dynasty and was the deputation of Sung due to his great performance in creation and theory. He had a close relationship with Zen Buddhism. Many monks at that time kept good companionship with him. There were many researches studied on the concernment of Su-Shi and Zen Buddhism, but only a few researchers focused on the relation between Su-Shi and the Diamond Sutra. The Diamond Sutra is one of the famous sutras that Su-Shi was well known. Diamond Sutra has special meaning to Su-Shi and Su-Shi’s thought was affected by this sutra. In this study, from the two view points: “All conditioned phenomena are like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, a shadow, dew, or lightning六如四句偈”, and ”give rise to the aspiration that has no abode應無所住而生其心”, I will discuss the effect of Diamond Sutra on Su-Shi’s life.
