The majority of academic research into Cheng Shewo's achievements in journalism education focuses on his work at the Beiping College of Journalism. However, by making journalism schools the sole focus of mainstream attention, such discussions ignore the fact that many journalists of that time were trained and educated by journalist organizations rather than school systems. The main aim of this paper is to explore the different aspects of the two systems and analyze their effects on Cheng’s development of journalism education methods.
