The purpose of this study was to understand the exercise participation of college students in central Taiwan. The participants included 1,705 college students (614 male students with mean age 19.9±0.5 years and 1,091 female students with mean age 19.8±0.5 years). The exercise behavior questionnaire was used as a tool. Data was processed by SPSS for windows 18.0 system and analyzed using the descriptive statistics. The results were as followed: (1) 36.4% of students participated in sports association. (2) The frequency of exercise activity is one day per week, with mean average 1-2.5 hours. (3) The sport types that students favored were ball sports (52%) and aerobic exercise (36%). (4) Most students hope they could learn the skills of exercise in the future (38.6%). (5) 27.4% of students were satisfied with this fitness study, however, 3.5% of them were unsatisfied. We concluded that frequency of exercise participation of students should be improved. We also suggested that teachers could teach the skills of exercise and encourage students to do exercise regularly.
