Purpose: This study was to analyze the correlations of scoring factors (spike, block, serve and opponent error) and match results of all the matches of 8 teams (Iran, South-Korea, China, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Chinese Taipei) in 2008 Asian Men's Cup Volleyball Championship. Methods: The grey relational analysis was used to explore the relations of scoring factors and match results. The reference function as rates of winning and comparison function was factors of scoring find to the correlation between rates of winning and factors of scoring. Results: The results were as the following: (a) The highest score of spike was 13.42 by Korea team. (b) The highest score of blocking was 4.82 by Australia team. (c) The highest score of serving was 1.13 by Korea team. (d) The highest of score of the opponent error was 6.64 by Indonesia team. In addition, the correlative score between spiking and match result was 0.88, between blocking and match result was 0.81, between serving and match result was 0.72 and between opponent error and match result was 0.84. Conclusion: Chinese Taipei did not perform well enough in those scoring factors as spiking, blocking, serving and opponent error. The training should be emehasged in those skills to improve the match performance.
