Through a series of research and studies, it is now confirmed that the Fu of Smallpox Diagnosis (dou zheng bian yi fu) found in the Collection of Fu of Taiwan (quan tai fu) was actually a work of a Ming Dynasty physician. It was written neither by "Jiangxia Xing Chun Sheng", nor was it a work of the Japanese colonial era. Although this Fu may be "disqualified" as a Fu of Taiwan, it is still a piece of valuable literature worth preserving for its documentation on the contemporary theories of smallpox treatments and reflection on the tradition of medical writing intended for public education. Despite the mistakes in the origins, the fact that the Collection of Fu of Taiwan includes the Fu of Smallpox Diagnosis as a piece of literature work reveals its breakthrough meaning in the conventional definition of "literature".
