This current literature review was to explore scientific training modes in bowling. Research articles were collected from the 3 databases including: (1) National Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations. (2) Index to Taiwan Periodical Literature System, and (3) PubMed. Only full articles in the field of sports science and training were reviewed. Twenty-two articles were selected and were analyzed with current research and concepts in training. It was found that phosphogen system is the major energy system for bowling. Techniques used in bowling include a series of continuous tasks. Monosaccharide is the main carbohydrate supplements recommended for bowling activity. Functional movement screen and assessment can be used as initial evaluation of bowlers. Structure exercises are recommended to develop strength and power. Motion analysis from above view revealed that Latissimus Dorsi and Pectoralis Clavicles should be trained due to the roles of these muscles play in providing stability and balance.
