本文利用DEA效率模型來衡量1997年至2007年中國各大區域的經營績效，並引入外生變數外商直接投資FDI與研究開發力度R&D，探討其對中國區域經濟效率及生產力變動的影響。研究結果顯示，中國1997年至2012年平均生產效率值為0.74，表明中國區域總體經濟效率尚有26%的改善空間，東部地區表現優於中部地區，而中部地區又比西部地區好。總要素生產力變動指標自1997年以後總體保持上升趨勢，代表中國生產力逐年提高，但中西部地區生產力的提高慢於東部地區。
The data envelopment analysis (DEA) was introduced to measure the managerial performance of Chinese regional economy, FDI and R&D are put in as exogenous variables so as to measure their influence to the production efficiency and the change of productivity for china regional economy. The result shows that, the average score of production efficiency is 0.74 during 1997 to 2012, which means there remains 26% of economical efficiency can be improved. The east is better than the central and western regions. As for the change rate of total factor productivity (TFPCH), the scores are greater than one since 1997, and it keeps ascending. Which shows the increase of productivity but with the middle and western regions slower than eastern areas.
