The textile industries used to the medical and related healthcare and hygiene sector are an important and growing trend. The development of textile technology is accelerated, in recent years, the friendly environmental and high functional medical materials have been widely used in related products. Above all, the medical textiles made by electrospinning method had applied to many special fields. In vitro researches have demonstrated very high anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial activity of essential oils(EOs) of thyme , but that belong to volatile oil-based material. It is difficulty to mix with hydrophilic polymer as spinning solution. The study was aimed at producing microcapsules of thyme EOs and mixed with hyaluronic acid and silk fibroin at various ratio as spinning solution, then made into nanofiber membranes by electrospinning method. The fineness of fibers, absorption and antibacterial properties of membranes were investigated. From the results showed the fineness were increased with amount of microcapsules of thyme EOs. In addition, the antibacterial properties were obviously enhanced by adding microcapsules of thyme EOs. When the amount of microcapsules of thyme EOs was at 30%, the antimicrobial ratio measure up 97.33%. The water absorption of multiple nano-fiber membranes of silk fibroin/hyaluronic acid/ microcapsules of thyme EOs were excellent increased with ratio of hyaluronic acid. The materials have potential to be applicable and available for biomaterials.
