To integrate the International Baccalaureate Programmes into the public school system is a brand new concept in the Taiwanese educational circles. This paper sets its focus on the benefi t of the adopted IB Programmes and promotes a bilingual education setting in the state schools of Taiwan. To facilitate this idea, this article exemplifies the innovative pedagogical reform plan in Japan which aims to abolish the traditional entrance exam in 2018 through applying IB Programmes. Nevertheless, a complementary measure “double-track school system” and parents’ enquiries about this topic have also been illustrated in this article. It is hoped the Taiwan educational authorities will deliberate the internationally recognized and rapidly accepted IB Programmes to breach the bottleneck of the pedagogical reform at the present stage as well as offer students a new chance to directly link up with universities worldwide in the near future. Moreover, we anticipate further discussion on this topic in the Taiwanese society.
