Purpose: The purpose of the study was to analyze the tendency of the medal winning in Taiwan and abroad by the National Taiwan Sport University tennis varsity team. Methods: The medal winning records of National Taiwan Sport University (NTSU) tennis varsity from 2002 to 2018 were used for the analysis. Basic demographic information such as gender, classes of the study, playing status, single, double were used. Descriptive statistics were used for the data analysis. Results: Regardless domestic or abroad, female tennis players were out-perform their male counterpart. In school year, male tennis players had better domestic and overseas medal winning performance in their junior year. Female tennis players had better domestic medal winning performance in their freshman year, overseas medal winning performance in their junior year. In medal winning total, NTSU male tennis players have won 93 medals abroad and 244 medals domestically. NTSU female tennis players have won 337 medals abroad and 361 medals domestically. Conclusion: The research showed female tennis players have won more medals than male tennis players domestically and internationally. For developing tennis, if we have to choose one of the genders, we suggest female first. Male tennis players often won their medals in their junior year; female tennis players often won their medals in their freshman year (international) and in their third year (domestic). Regardless abroad and domestic, tennis players have won more medals in doubles than single competitions. In domestic competition, tennis players had better performance in The National Game and National Intercollegiate Athletic Games especially in team event. The results provided perspectives for athlete selection, training, and registration strategy in the future. It may elevate the medal winning efficiency.
