Chapter One, Preface, briefly explains the meaning of "Yuan Lin", the relation between "Yuan Lin" and "literature", also discusses the categories of "Ta Kuan Yuan" rhythm. Chapter Two, Introduction of building garden in "Ta Kuan Yuan", contains two parts: 1. Theories about the real address of "Ta Kuan Yuan" mentioned in "Hung Huseh". There are twelve persons' theories, including Shih Hu, Pingpo Yu, Ju-chang Chou, shih-chang Wu, Hsin-liu Wu, Pao-fang Huang, I liang Lin , Kuan-hua Chou, Kang Chao, Ying-shih Yu, Pao-chuan Tseng, Yung-hua Tseng. From these theories, I think "Ta Kuan Yuan" is the work composed of official residence combining imagination with reality and "Chiang Nan Yuan Lin". 2. Description of "Ta Kuan Yuan" architecture in "The Red Chamber Dream". From the descriptions in "The Red Chamber Dream", we can find out the processes of building "Ta Kuan Yuan". Chapter Three discusses the relation between "Ta Kuan Yuan" rhythm and theory of garden architecture. Comparing ti shih and ti pien in each view with the theory of "Yuan Yeh" by cheng Chi in Ming dynasty, we can make sure the rule of building garden in "Ta Kuan Yuan". The views mentioned are: cheng men (front door), chu ching tung yu, chin fang ting, yu feng lai I, hsing lien tsai wang, liao ting hua hsu, heng chih ching fen, peng lai hien ching (a paradise), chin fang cha, hung hsiang lu yu. Chapter Four expores literature value of "Ta Kuan Yuan" rhythm, From the views described in Chapter three, this chapter evaluates their literature values in the sequence of ti pien, ying lien (scrolls hung on a pillar), ti shih, ssu shih chi shih shih. Chapter Five discusses the personality of novel in "Ta Kuan Yuan Ti Shih". According to ti pien and ti shih in the sequence of Yuan Fei, Ying Chiun, Tan Chun, His chun, wan Li, Pao-chai Hsueh, tai-yu Lin, Pao-yu Chia, this chapter discusses the same parts of personality in the novel that revealed in these verses and tablets. Pao-yu Chia's "Ssu shih chi Shih Shih" is the work connecting the plot and organizing the arrangement. Chapter six, conclusion, emphasizes ti pien, ti lien and ti shih in "Ta Kuan Yuan" closely related to "Yuan Lin" architecture. They has high performance in literature, and combine with persons, events, things and feelings in the novel. These are the fundamental essence in the novel.
