本文目的在探討醫學生專科選擇的意願以及其影響之相關因素。於1997年6月至 1998年5月，以南部某醫學中心之所有實習醫師共123名為對象，進行將來專科選擇意願以及影響因素之問卷調查。分析結果顯示，79名受訪者將來最有可能選擇之專科依次前三項為，內科、外科、皮膚科；影響實習醫師專科選擇之因素有：專業報酬之考量、他人期望之影響、學習經驗之影響、個人因素之考慮。全民健康保險制度實施後，醫療生態發生急劇的改變；在有限資源體制下，應可考慮結合健保給付的影響力作一妥善的整合，以配合國 家社會的需要規劃適當的醫療人力。

　　　　　The purpose of this paper is to explore specialty selection and factors affecting medical students' choices in the era after the implementation of National Health Insurance in Taiwan. From June 1997 to May 1998, a questionnaire was administered to 123 medical students undertaking their rotation internship. The results of 79 respondents showed that the top three options selected by medical students were internal medicine, surgery, and dermatology. Related factors affecting their specialty selection were remuneration for practicing this specialty, expectations of family and significant others, experience during their internship, and personal considerations. It is suggested that, for future medical manpower planning and execution in this country, integrating the influences of the national health insurance program and societal health policy should be considered and examined.
