雖然梅爾維爾的《抄寫員巴特爾比》講述的是19世紀一個社會畸人對華爾街極端的消極反抗,但這種極端他者對抗資本主義制度和美國神話的寓言式寫作卻契合了當今全球反恐時代有關他者政治的倫理爭鳴。透過"后9·11"的視角,我們不僅能解析這篇短篇小說背后的西方文化批判,也能實踐美國文學經典與當代政治的互讀,并在這種重讀中辨析"9·11文學"所昭示的倫理行動。
