This paper analyzes the funeral ceramics from the Guanzhong region during the Western Zhou period.The author points out that the characteristics of ceramics and their assemblages illustrate remarkable variations between different settlements across the entire Guanzhong region.This analysis indicates that the regional variation and temporal changes in terms of ceramic manufacturing and utilization existed both between eastern and western Guanzhong and among settlents within the region.This paper also explains the underlying reasons of these variations,focusing on different social conditions such as region,ethnicity,hierarchy,gender,and agency of manufacturers and users.
