　　　　　佟妮．莫莉森(Toni Morrison)的《摯愛》(Beloved)針對美國人對奴隸制度的「失憶症」，以小說形式重構被白主人/大論述所湮滅的集體與個人記憶。本文探討《摯愛》的重新記憶(rememory)是為奴隸祖先和黑人族群重新命名，這涉及了如可思考、述說、書寫向來被奴隸制度所泯滅的歷史之問題。《摯愛》深刻地就語言的與記憶、過去與現在、口述與文字、自我與社群等方面探討種族身分。此外，藉由將母女關係置於小說重構奴隸制度之核心，莫莉森不僅呈現女黑奴的主體性。也追溯了常被忽視的黑人女性傳承，將之溯回非洲。
