The sixteenth party congress will open in the autumn. The most important agenda in this conference is the alternation of generations. In general, the successor issue has always been serious problem for the Communist Party. The ruthless struggle and merciless blows accompany the hand-over of political power. Mr. Hu Jin Tao was nominated successor by Deng-Xiao-ping ten years ago. Fortunately, Hu Jin Tao might be successful. If so, that will be the first time a peaceful power change will take place in CCP. However, the observers are still curious about how Hu Jin Tao will succeed? Will he really have enough power to arrange his own team to take over the whole position? This essay, tries to explain the logic of generation alterative by examining the party congresses of CCP since 1980's, in addition to the factional strife approach. My conclusions are: 1. The nominative successor method is a peaceful way, but it is still not a system. We need to follow and further watch. 2. The collective leadership is an acceptable system at the central level of CCP. We can understand their own logic to arrange the members of leadership.
