電子期刊自1980年代開始進行實驗計畫，1996年之後大量出版，受到學術界、出版界、代理商的重視，也引發許多研究與討論。究竟電子期刊與傳統期刊有什麼不同？其對學術傳播帶來的是正面或負面效應？圖書館在面對電子期刊的傳播與管理的角色為何？本論文主要從學術傳播角度探討電子期刊的發展與影響，首先析述電子期刊的意涵與興起；其次，說明學術傳播與學術品質本質，研究電子期刊學術傳播新模式與其引發的問題；其次，歸納與分析電子期刊學術傳播問題的因應策略。最後，總結圖書館在電子期刊傳播的任務以及教育研發的方向。

　　　　　As digital and network technologies progress, electronic journals are prosperous and have an impact on scholarly communication. The article mainly investigates that electronic journals transform scholarly communication. At first, it discusses the characteristics, research projects, and sources of electronic journals. Then, scholarly communication and scholarly publishing are explored. As the Internet Age is approaching, the new model of electronic journal scholarly communication has been shaped and new problems are confronted by scholars and academic community. Finally, the article concludes with four strategies of resolving above problems, including publishing low cost and high quality electronic journals, establishing electronic peer-review systems, developing institutional repositories, and undertaking long-term digital preservation.
