本研究應用資料包絡分析法及Malmquist生產力指數，評估國內產險業之經營效率。實結果顯示，國內產險業平均為技術無效率，導致無效率的原日主要為不具規模效率。因此，為改善產險業之經營效率，必須擴大規模以達固定規模報酬。此外，根據Malmquist生產力指數，在其五個變動指數中，技術效率變動、純粹技術效率變動、規模效率變動具有正成長，顯示整體產險業績極提昇其通效率，並致力於達到規模效率，但對於技術變動與總要素生產力變動卻有衰退的現象。

This study uses data envelopment analysis and Malmuist productive index to estimate operating performance of property-liability insurance industry. We find that property-liability insurance industry in Taiwan is technical non-efficiency because of scale non-efficiency. Meanwhile, according to malmquist productive indices, we find all of the technical efficiency changes, pure technical efficiency changes and scale efficiency changes are increasing, but the technological changes and total factor productivity changes are declining.
