公園綠地的質與量均對人們（居住）生活品質有深遠的影響。確實地瞭解與評估都市公園的使用及其對居民的效益，有助於政府相關決策之制定。爰此，研究探討臺北市居民對於都市公園（系統）使用情形、效益的認知以及其關聯性。主要議題包括（1）瞭解現階段公園使用的情形、（2）探討"認知"公園效益的種類及其相對重要性、（3）分析使用者特質及使用特徵與其效益間的關係、最後（4）與北美相關公園效益實證研究之結果相比較。研究結果發現，民眾對都市公園十分倚賴，有八成的民眾使用公園，特別是居家鄰近的公園；民眾最常在公園內從事的活動項目為「散步」、「聊天」、及「休息」。有四成左右的民眾非常肯定公園帶來的效益，另有五成的民眾也表示肯定。其中「淨化空氣」、「美化市容」、及「開放空間」是最被重視的公園效益。本研究也驗證了民眾的社經特質與其公園使用及公園效益感受有顯著的關係，本研究最後探討在都市公園管理上的應用與建議。

The quantity and quality of urban parks greatly influence the life quality of residents. This study intends to study the uses and benefits of Taipei park (system), and further examines relations among park uses, benefits and users' characteristics. Four major issues are examined: (1) to illustrate the levels and types of park uses, (2) to explore the types and importance of park benefits, (3) to examine the relations among users' characteristics, park uses, and perceived park benefits, (5) to compare the findings with the previous U.S. studies. The study found that people heavily relied on parks for their leisure life. About 80 percent of people used Taipei park (system), especially their neighborhood park. Leisure walking, chatting, and resting were the most frequent activities in the park. About 40 percent of people were very appreciated park benefits delivered by the Taipei park (system). The other 50 percent of people also recognized the park benefits. Among them, air condition, city landscape, and open spaces were the most identifiable benefits. This study also verified the eimpirical relationships between users' characteristics and park uses and benefits. Finally, this study suggested the implications for urban park provisions and management.
