After almost 30 years since the beginning of the reformation in China, the nation's fast-paced economic development is spurring the rise of the entire country. As China's rise becomes the focal point of the world and the global community debates the “China Threat” theory, China continually insists on “China's Peaceful Ascendancy.” Will China's rise result in another threat or friendly partnership to the world community? This question has already become the topic of discussion. This paper will focus on the ideas behind the theory of “China's Peaceful Ascendency,” the global communities' main standpoint, China's reaction to the international community, China's rise in relation to the Strait relations, as well as how Taiwan confronts “China's Peaceful Ascendency.”
