清代臺灣文獻的內容，最吸引人注目的地方，就是有關臺灣原住民的書寫再現。自我與異己文化的差異化過程的書寫，可在這些有關原住民的文本中見到。 試圖了解大清帝國文化的廣泛傳播，如何塑造對臺灣異己文化的瞭解與再現，以及這些留給臺灣文化空間何種遺產，這些是審視帝國的、地理的想像以及異己文化相關主題之間的關聯課題。本文以《諸羅縣志》中「風俗志．番俗考」為探究的起點，期能了解清官以何種認識的模式來論述原住民，而在臺灣的地理空間中置入自我與異己的想像的地理。

In the literatures of Ch'ing period 【清代】 about Taiwan, the most interesting ones are the writings about aborigines' cultures. The process of cultural differentiation in ‘Self’ and ‘Other’ can be found in these literatures. This paper will look at the theory and process of ‘othering’ at first, and then make investigations into how Han's 【漢人】 imaginative geographies ascribe meaning to the representation of Taiwan's aborigines in Chu-lo County Gazetteer. 【諸羅縣志】 At last, this paper will identify two tropes that became very influential in the writing of Taiwan's aborigines.
