由於圍棋列入亞運正式比賽種類，教育部將圍棋納入運動績優甄審甄試範圍及中華民國圍棋協會即將加入中華體總等因素，我國圍棋體育運動化已成爲必然之趨勢，探討圍棋與體育運動關聯性實有其價值性。本文先介紹多元智慧理論與體育運動的關係，再透過多元智慧之肢體動覺智慧釐出圍棋運動之身體要素與內涵，將圍棋運動之肢體動覺智慧分爲智慧表現與智慧訓練兩面向。其中，「體能」爲影響勝負關鍵之肢體動覺智慧表現，「姿勢」則爲具文化內涵之肢體動覺智慧表現；而「體能」與「姿勢」訓練則爲從事圍棋運動之必要課題；另外，長期參與圍棋運動亦可能產生刺激肢體動覺智慧發展之效益。本文最後歸納出圍棋運動在協調、專注力與體能上合乎肢體動覺智慧的定義，並建議日後可繼續嘗試找出其它的肢體動覺智慧元素。
