ABSTRACT
This study aimed to explore the influences of the teaching and evaluation of a creative thinking related course with the integration of the theory of multiple intelligences on the students’ tendency of multiple intelligences, and learning effects of professional theory and practical capability. In order to fulfill this purpose, this study applied the multiple intelligences tendency checklist, the professional theory pre-test scale, the personal information survey form for students, the professional theory scale, and the practical design theme and work scoring scale. All these scales were good in validity and reliability. This study adopted the nonequivalent quasi-experimental design for the experimental teaching. The target students were the first-grade students from the four-year college day school program of the Department of Commercial Design, Chienkuo Technology University. There were a total of 107 research subjects, with 54 in the experimental group and 53 in the control group. The collected data were calculated and tested with the averages and standard deviations, and t-test.
The specific findings of this study were concluded as follows:
1. According to the results based on the multiple intelligences tendency check of the students from the Department of Commercial Design, their interpersonal intelligence tendency was strong while their logical-mathematical intelligence tendency was weak.
2. According to the results based on the multiple intelligences tendency pre-test, for both the experimental group and the control group, the students’ interpersonal intelligence tendency was strong while their existential intelligence tendency was weak.
3. According to the results based on the multiple intelligences tendency post-test, for both the experimental group and the control group, the students’ interpersonal intelligence tendency was strong while their existential intelligence tendency was weak.
4. The influence of the teaching and evaluation of the theory of multiple intelligences on the experimental group students regarding their improvements in the multiple intelligences tendency check was significant.
5. The influence of the teaching and evaluation of the theory of multiple intelligences on the experimental group students regarding their professional theory learning effects was significant.
6. The influence of the teaching and evaluation of the theory of multiple intelligences on the experimental group students regarding their practical capability learning effects was significant.
