空服員一直是許多國內社會新鮮人嚮往的職業，然而光鮮亮麗的工作，究竟對其身心健康的影響如何，卻鮮少人提及。過去20餘年，臺灣旅遊相關研究雖有長足進展，但空服員相關研究仍然不足。本文探討空服員生理與心理健康的課題，針對1983-2009年發表於各種領域與空服員健康有關的124篇期刊論文，一一檢視與生理與心理健康有關的主題。結果發現三大主題：一、客艙空氣品質對健康的影響頗鉅、二、空服員較易罹患癌病及骨骼疾病、三、工作時間、情緒、性騷擾、貌美員工(aesthetic labor)、及高度性別化的工作環境等都是造成空服員壓力的根源。本研究獲致三個結論，一、空服員生理與心理健康是受到工作小環境及社會大環境雙重壓力交織的影響。二、空服員的生理與心理健康需要先從工作環境中，協助其排解各種壓力著手。三、空服員的生理與心理健康需要從社會大環境中，尋求根本的解決之道。文末並對航空公司經營管理及女性空服員工作及職涯規劃提出建言。
The work of flight attendants has been admired by college graduates. Research on travel in Taiwan for the past two decades was mushroomed, but topics regarding physical and mental health of flight attendants are rare. This study examines 124 articles of diverse journals which focus on flight attendants' health, from 1983-2009. The results indicated that cabin air quality affects health, that flight attendants are vulnerable to cancer and back pain, and that long hours, emotions, sex harassment, aesthetic labor, and highly gendered working environments all contribute to their stress. Three conclusions were drawn. First, flight attendants' health was influenced by both working and social environments. Second, reducing stress needs to be solved firstly from working environments. Third, the ultimate way to reduce stress needs to search for solutions from social environments. Implications and suggestions to airline companies and flight attendants were made and discussed.
