龍山寺觀音會於每年農曆二月、六月、九月三個月，舉行觀音法會。農曆二月和六月時間都是選擇十六日這一天舉行半天的法會，在這半天的法會的行程為，早上八點發表請佛，九點拜誦《妙法蓮華經觀世音普門品》，十一點進行午供祝聖法，接著中午十二點會員吃平安宴。如果是九月則舉行三天的法會。分別是九月十六日、十七日和十八日這三天。九月十六日早上八點發表開經，九點半拜三昧水懺上卷，接著下午兩點到四點拜水懺中卷和下卷。九月十七日早上九點拜藥師寶懺上卷，接著下午兩點到四點拜藥師寶懺中卷和下卷，接著晚上七點舉行拜誦藥師經點燃四十九顆藥師燈的法會，為觀音會的眾會員祝燈延壽。九月十八日早上八點進行齋天謝三界，中午十一點進行午供祝聖，下午二點半進行瑜伽焰口施食，晚上六點舉行平安宴。另外在農曆的二月十九日、六月十九日以及九月十九日三天，中午十一點會舉行三獻祝聖法會。本文主要探討每年龍山寺農曆九月觀音法會最重要的三個科儀，齋天科儀，藥師燈科，瑜伽焰口施食的儀式結構以及內涵。

Guanyin worship assemblies of Manka Dragon Hill Temple are always taking place on the 2nd, 6th, and 9th lunar months, where the 16th days of the first previous two months are always chosen for the half of a day assemblies. The process of those assemblies starts off at 8 o’clock in the morning by doing buddhistic invitation, at 9 o’clock, making obeisance to and recitation of the chapter of Guanyin’s Universality in Lotus Sutra, at 11 o’clock, invoking blessings from Guanyin on the deity’s birthday, then noon time at 12 o’clock, peaceful feast will be brought forth for the attending members to enjoy. However, on the 9th lunar month, a consecutive three day worship assembly will be held beginning on the 16th day of the month. Commencing at 8 o’clock in the morning, opening of the sutra will be announced, then at 9.30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., paying obeisance to the SamādhiWater Confession book 1, 2 and 3 respectively. On the next day, the 17th day of the 9th lunar month, at 9 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m., make obeisance to the Confession of the Master of Healing book 1, 2 and 3 respectively. Then at 7 p.m. in evening, recitation of the Sutra of the Master of Healing, and lighting up the 49 lamps of the Master of Healing will be done for the attending members to receive the blessing of longevity. On the last day, the 18th day of the 9th lunar month, at 8 a.m., do offering to give thanks to the Triloka, at 11 a.m., invoke blessings from the deities, at 2.30 p.m., proceed to perform buddhistic yoga flaming mouth food bestowing, then at 6 p.m., peaceful feast will be put up for the attending members to eat. Besides, at 11 a.m. on the three 19th days of the 2nd, 6th, and 9th lunar months, three assemblies to invoke blessings from the deities will be taken place. This study is mainly to delve into the ritual structure and connotation of the three major rules of lesson: the offering of food to give thanks to the Triloka, lighting up the lamps of the Master of Healing, and the yoga flaming mouth food bestowing.
