The purpose of this study is to research the influence between the change of medium and the transmission of folk fairy tales. Through comparing Cinderella stories of Taiwan's children's books, Chinese folklores, Charles Perrault, Brothers Grimm and Disney, to explore how the medium of the oral, the record text, the adaption children's books, the audio-visual media and the internet influence folk fairy tales. Through different medium influence the story teller, receiver, and receiver's literacy. With the medium evolution from the oral, text, animation to internet, the variability of folk fairy tales be lower by text, fixed by Disney and at last, renewed by internet. Although the internet provides a new world for writers to rewrite Cinderella with different purposes, the situation is different from the oral period.
