It’s easy to say that there is the cultural difference between China and Spain; but at the end of 19th century (1875-1900), the intellectuals of both countries won’t be satisfied with their government, they intended to resolve the urgent socio-political problems and make their countries better. It also occurred in Literature, so there was the new aesthetic movements; ex.: the “New Literature”(新文學)in China, the “generaci6n del 98” in Spain. Among these movements, the literary works of the fantastic literature didn’t disappear. We can find a few of writers who reflected their socio-political opinion by their fantastic descriptions. In addition to the introduction and the conclusion, this research will include two main parts: the socio-cultural phenomenon, in which we will analyze the socio-cultural background of both countries; the fantastic art, in which we will present the narrative works of the fantastic literature of China and Spain, as well as compare the theme and the structure of these works on the basis of the methodology of the theme of Louis Vax and the structural methodology of Tzvetan Todorov.
