近年來，國內公共圖書館事業發展突飛猛進，無論在硬體或軟體方面都有長足的進步。本文主要針對圖書館所提供的服務部分，首先探討歐美等國公共圖書館提供服務的近況，其次，對於國內近年來公共圖書館發展的近況，也是偏重在提供服務方面。最後，對於國內公共圖書館服務的新面貌提出六項建議。

In recent years, the public libraries are rapidly developed in Taiwan, no matter in hardware or software. This article mainly focus in the public services that provided by the public library. Both the Europe and the United States’ public library services are reviewed through literature and web sites. Furthermore, the services provided by the public library in Taiwan are also discussed. Finally, six suggestions are given for the public library of Taiwan.
