The eight hundred volumes of Qingdai Shiwenji Huibian (The Collection of Qing Poetry) contain a large number of prefaces and postscripts that are not included in many published ci collections. This research aims to make a complementary compilation of eight such works from the Jin, Yuan, and Ming Dynasties. There are six of them from the Jin Dynasty, including Mou Quansun’s "Mingxiuji Ba" (Postscripts to Mingxiu Collection) and "Yishan Xin Yuefu Ba" (Postscript to Yishan New Yuefu Poems), Yao Chun’s "Ti Yuan Yishan Yuefu" (Preamble to Yuan’s Yishan Yuefu Poems), He Zhuo’s "Ba Zhongzhou Ji Jiguge Ben" (Postscripts to Zhongzhou Collection of Jiguge Version), Wu Changshou’s "Zhongzhou Yuefu Ba" (Postscript to Zhongzhou Yuefu Poems), and Fu Zengxiang’s "Ti Yuan Kan Ben Zhongzhou Ji" (Preamble to Zhongzhou Collection of Yuan Kan Version) extracted from his Cangyuan Qunshu Ti Ji (Preamble to Cangyuan Book Collections). The one from the Yuan Dynasty is Wu Changshou’s "Wujintaoshi Xukan Ying Song Yuan Ben Cimu Xu" (Preface to the Ci Catalogue of Wujintaoshi’s Xukan Ying Song-Yuan Version), which also includes ci poems of the Ying Song version. The one from the Ming Dynasty is Wang Sen’s "Xuanming Ci Xu" (Preface to Xuanming Ci Poetry). This textual research is grounded on the compilation of these selected texts. It covers such aspects as introduction of bibliophiles and publishers, identification of publishers, and recapitulation of the whole story of publication. It also includes some remarks of other reviewers that help shed light on the content to discover more truth about these ci works. It is hoped that this approach will provide a new perspective on the research of prefaces and postscripts of ci collections.
