權威控制之法在我國古已有之，早在漢代劉向《七略》中，即有實例可循；清朝 章學誠之《校讎通義》對於一書兩入，與一書兩名之防避亦有具體的說明；時間上比歐美權 威控制書面資料的出現為早。 今日我國目錄製作與權威控制之法都仿歐美，西文權威紀錄主要則轉錄自美國國會圖書館之 名稱權威檔及標題權威檔，但中文權威紀錄及美國國會圖書館權威當中未建之權威紀錄則必 須由國人自行建立。由於權威紀錄來源不同、格式不同、製作原則不同，在線上權威控制的 執行上，也必然需面對不同格式的轉換，同一著者、團體名稱、劃一題名的整合等，及不同 主題系統的整合問題。此外如權威機讀編目格式的修訂，合作建立各類型名稱權威檔，本土 化權威紀錄研究等，對於已在進行自動化的臺灣圖書館而言，都是刻不容緩的工作。

　　　　　Our authority records for literature in western languages are adopted from the Western world. But the records for Chinese literature have to be established by ourselves. As such, authority format, romanization and subject systems for Chinese can be quite different from the western system. The problem of integrating them thus arieses. In addition, the relevant issues such as the revision of the Chinese Authority MARC Format, the establishment of name authority file and investigation of characteristics of Chinese authority records are also urgent problems for our libraries, which just start with automation.
