臺灣地區據民國80年（1991）調查，共有圖書館3,545所，乃政府遷臺40年來，在 政治革新、經濟發展、教育普及、社會繁榮下之具體成就。本文旨在概述臺灣地區圖書館行 政組織體系之現況，在國家圖書館、公共圖書館、大專院校圖書館、中小學圖書館及專門圖 書館五類之下，探討各類圖書館設置之法規依據、組織之隸屬關係及組織地位、組織之內部 編制及相關單位等方面。本文偏重現況之陳述，俾使會議學者對臺灣地區圖書館行政組織體 系有初步了解。至於深入探討行政組織體系之利弊得失，尚待他日撰文續之，或有待會議專 家學者之指教。

　　　　　This paper is a brief state of art report of the library organizational systems in Taiwan, Republic of China. The purpose of this paper is to study the organizational systems of the libraries in the following categories: national libraries, public libraries, college and university libraries, school libraries, and special libraries. As for the libraries in each category, their founding legislative regulations and rules, their organizational hierarchies, their status within their parent institutions, their organizational structures and subordinate units are discussed.
