文章從四個方面論述了情報科學技術傳統的形成原因:情報科學自始即
與技術結下了不解之緣，其技術傳統在很大程度上來源於其學科母體---文獻工作
領域在30年代對技術的追求;實用主義哲學影響了情報科學的研究方向，致使情
報科學形成了以情報檢索技術的開發利用為主導的技術傳統;情報科學領域中人
文背景的研究者和科技背景的研究者出現了文化上的分裂，形成了兩種文化模
式，強化了情報科學的技術傳統;本世紀60~70年代科學在整體上出現了技術化、
經濟化的傾向，影響了情報科學研究的目的和動機，科研選題和研究方向、成果
評價標準等，進一步加強了情報科學的技術傳統。

　　　　　This article discusses thecauses of formation for the technolog-ical tradition
of information science infour aspects. Information science, fromits very beginning,
had an indissolublebond with technology, its technologicaltradition to a great extent
stemmedfrom the pursuit of its parent disci-pline@-documentation of technology
inthe 1930s. The pragmatic philosophyinfluenced information science's re-search
orientation and caused itforming the technological traditionwith the development and
applicationof information retrieval as the domi-nator. The researchers with
techno-logical background seperated form those -with humanistic one in the fieldof
information science, with the formation of two different cultures, thetechnological
tradition was strengthened. The tendency of technicalizationand economization in
science as awhole influenced the aim, intention,orientation, the appraisal standard
forachievements, etc. of information science research and enhanced thetechnological
tradition of informationscience.
