As the symbol of modem city) how the modem stadiums (ballparks) to become and be created as their "identities of the city"? This article is an attempt to combine the discourses of "political economy" with "culture studies". First, by surveying the analysis of the historical transformation of American stadiums (ball-parks), we can understand the process that the modem stadiums(ballparks) defined the meaning of space and were naturalized through the rhetoric of public sphere and private investment. And, such shape of urban symbolic space of "symbolic economy" as "space offlows", represents a new and powerful base of cultural means of dominating cities. Finally, to dialogue with the Asian urban context, I try to deal with the relation of modern stadium and the identity of the city.
