本研究的目的主要在了解運動競技水準與運動目標取向之間的關係。研究對象是以參加八十五學年度大專排球聯賽的女子選手為樣本(N=208)，並採用量表施測的方式，以獲取所需要的資料。經統計分析後，本研究發現：隨著運動競技水準的提高，選手的運動目標取向特質會有低工作／低自我取向□高工作／低自我取向□高工作／高自我取向□低工作／高自我取向的改變。
