本研究區分「配對」、「向被比較量等化」與「向參照量等化」三種解讀比較問題的觀點,設計表徵各種觀點的算式,要求判斷算式是否符合文字題的題意。藉由觀察563位二下到四上學童在算式判斷作業上的表現,探討比較問題理解觀點的發展。結果顯示,「配對」觀點最見發展,三下與四上期間發展「向被比較量等化」觀點,僅四上學童表現出「向參照量等化」觀點的跡象,學童傾向對各類問題情境使用特定的理解方式,而不能以同一觀點掌握各類比較問題情境中的數量關係。理解觀點間缺乏相互轉換的彈性,可能肇因於學童未能成熟地運用「部分─部分─整體」分析。
