電子出版品或數位資料在近十年來快速增加，大量的當代文化和研究成果記載其中，成為資訊和知識的重要載體，要如何將這些智慧資產保存下來，是各國國家相關典藏機構近年來積極努力的方向。出版品送存制度是國家徵集出版品的方法之一，寄存圖書館徵集電子出版品或電子資源也成為未來不可避免的職責。本文主要探討電子出版品送存的相關議題、國際上的調查研究、立法的架構和內容、取用權規範及各國電子出版品送存發展概況，並說明臺灣地區現況調查和研究發現，最後提出建議以做為國內實施電子出版品送存制度之參考。

Legal deposit of electronic publications or digital materials is the resort to create a comprehensive collection of national publications and to compile an authoritative nation-al bibliographic record. It is the new challenge and inevitable duty that deposit library should deal with. Legal deposit eventually should be a statutory obligation based on the understanding of those surveys conducted by international organizations. This article addresses the present situation in Taiwan and a possible future evolution of legal deposit worldwide. Finally, the authors conclude that, by bringing foreign experiences back into Taiwan, the policy of legal deposit can be transformed to take full advantage of ensuring national preservation and providing feasible access to new forms of material.
