The role of female in the current society is becoming important, while housewives in a certain degree maintain the role to sacrifice for their family and children. While lifelong learning becomes a popular concept in Taiwan, more housewives step out off the families and attend the learning society. Story-telling mother groups provide a path for housewives to attend the society and to be empowered consistently. However, since attendants may join to and leave from the groups easily, the effectiveness of groups to help female’s empowerment might be over-predicted. In order to understand the process and the needed adjustment of housewives attending groups, this study focus on some housewives who had attended Hualien’s story-telling group with a particular reference in the process that those housewives have had experienced in their participant process. Through the individual and the focus group interviews, this study would explore the perception and experience of housewives in the process of attending the group.
