本文利用1990至2003年CPBL各年球季資料建立CPBL球賽的需求模型並進行估計,以歸納及探討影響觀眾進場觀看球賽的因素。實證結果發現,可能是因為賽程安排與交通不便等因素造成安排於新建場館比賽場數的比率愈高,平均觀眾人數卻愈低;此外球季中或球季間所發生的職棒簽賭及兩聯盟抗衡等事件均對CPBL的票房造成負面的衝擊。實證結果雖隱含目前國內棒球場館的數量已足以因應職棒球賽的需求,然而場館硬體設施必須逐步進行改善方能提升球賽品質。
Based on the statistics from the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL), this paper tried to estimate the demand for attendance at CPBL games, and then investigate the factors affecting attendance. The empirical results showed that the effect of new stadiums on annual average attendance was negative possibly due to inconvenient traffic or game schedules. The gambling and two-league competition events would reduce annual average attendance. The empirical evidence also implied that the quantity of stadiums was quite enough to satisfy the demand for professional baseball games in Taiwan, but facilities of stadiums should be improved to raise the quality of games.
