Taiwan, well known as a ＂Small-Giant＂ in the Thin Film Transistor (TFT)/ Liquid Chrystal Display (LCD) industry is well known for its dynamic flexibility and efficiency. This research examines the relation between Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) & Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) industries along with analyzing Taiwanese corporations’ strategic management for their strength and weakness in the field of Information Technology (IT). By analyzing a sample of listed companies in Taiwan, this research proposes a measure of managerial optimism from management earnings forecasts, and find that well known Taiwan IT firms did not climb to where they are today with simply luck; however, by solidifying fundamentals, and correctly strategically managing its own strength and weakness. Moreover, this research discusses which strategic methods these rather successful Taiwanese firms utilize to win the comparative advantage over their competitors in their respective fields. In addition, with these successful strategic management methods, this paper will illustrate where Taiwan’s economy stand with the strategic implementation in which this Island has gathered ranking its financial status in the past couple years.
