本研究透過詞語資訊抽取及自組織映射圖技術，利用各資訊傳播學相關系所的碩士論文資料作為分析資料，將資訊傳播學領域的研究主題與論文分布情形進行資訊視覺化，藉以探討這個領域的研究情形與趨勢。資訊視覺化產出的自組織映射圖能夠表現出資訊傳播學領域的多個重要研究主題，並且這些主題在圖上的位置也顯示出它們相關的基礎學科。為了分析領域的發展情形，本研究將論文資料依據它們的出版學年度映射到自組織映射圖。本研究結果發現，資訊傳播學領域在發展的初期便是一個多元學科整合而成的領域，並且也能夠從科技發展與社會變遷中發掘的新研究主題。

In this study, we applied a series of technologies for term extraction and self-organizing maps to text data in the master's theses published by graduate programs related to Information Communication in Taiwan in order to visualize the information about research topics as well as the distribution of the theses among those topics to analyze the development and trends in the field. The self-organizing map generated via the process of information visualization in the study reveals several important research topics in the field of Information Communication, and the positions of these topics on the map also show the high relevance with their related basis disciplines. For analyzing the developments in the field, these theses were mapped into the self-organizing map according to the academic year of publication. The results show that the field of Information Communication has not only emerged from multi-disciplinary integration since its early development, but is also able to find new research topics from the process of technology development and social change.
