The traditional concept of security is aimed to defend national territory and sovereignty against external military threats. Nevertheless, volatile international situations along with the emerging discourse of non-traditional security have forced the military to adjust their tasks and review rules, regulations and doctrines in order to deal with training and exercises in the new era. The organizational structure and functions of modernized armed forces do not limit themselves to merely conduct traditional military tasks. They, however, also carry out non-traditional security missions with regard to maintenance of social security, international humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. This can not only enhance the flexibility of armed forces to tackle missions during both peacetime and wartime, but also simultaneously improve the comprehensive military capability and the capacity of military operations other than war.
