2007年在綠島發現來自海岸無法辨別的海漂種實，經鑑定及試培育，確認是一種來自南洋地區，但卻因綠島無適合之自然生育棲地，致未出現於綠島的棕櫚科植物-水椰子(Nypa fruticans Wurmb)。本文描述該種實海漂、撿拾、試種之過程，與生物特性介紹。
