People across the world have dealt with stress derived from busy life, economy and so on. Under this circumstance, a rise in population of intangible depression came to existence. Depression was merely the burden of the body and soul, but also might caused tragic death to individuals in severe cases. Thus, that is an issue which cannot be underestimated. Depression showed a common age of onset primarily from age twenty to age fifty which was the case novices expected to work. However, the population of Taiwan society with symptoms of depression increased year by year. According to the related literatures, a healing environment was provided by designers to help users with a creation of space to keep their body and soul healthy. Hence, a space design in the living room was made to meet users’ feelings. Not only could improve users comfort, but facilitate health and healing to them. Based on that, the purpose of the study aimed at exploring affection preferences and emotional feelings to novices of different lifestyles. The related literatures of the study were sorted out through literature review and an in-depth interview was adopted from the experts to administrate a formal questionaries.Finally, the questionnaires were implemented and analyzed by statically analysis to acquire the results. The results indicated that novices can be classified into five types. Each type was characteristics of commonality and individual differences in their emotional needs to healing environment. In the study, emotional factors and preferences regarding the healing space design in the living room were obtained to provide references to interior design industries.
